Around the end of summer, we would start to harvest the potatoes we had planted in spring, and I knew then that it would be only a matter of time before my father would start to make his specialty.

My parents and I especially liked garlic though, and we would always make sure we had enough to last us year round.

We had a vegetable garden, and although it was not large, it was big enough to provide us with a various assortment of produce such as garlic, potatoes, carrots, eggplants and sometimes tomatoes; it really depended on the year what we would plant, but we would always try grow as much as possible.
